Ronnie Ken McClain, 63, of Cleveland, MO, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Visitation 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, MO.
Ronnie was born March 25, 1947 in Hamilton, MO, the son of Kenneth W. and Marjorie M. (Bathgate) McClain. He grew up in Hamilton and was a 1965 graduate of Penny High School in Hamilton. He married Helen R. Flint on October 26, 1968 in Kansas City, MO. He had lived in Cleveland, MO for 27 years before moving to Louisburg.
Ronnie worked for Honeywell for 28 years as a machinist before retiring on September 30, 2009. He was a member of the Freeman Baptist Church in Freeman, MO. He played senior softball for numerous years all around the county. He and Helen enjoyed traveling to various concerts to watch the Signature Sound Quartet. He was one-of-a-kind; his smile would lighten up a room. He unselfishly gave time and love to all. Everyone that met him knew that they had met an extraordinary person. He was loved and will be missed by many.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry L. McClain on June 14, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Helen of the home; one son, Matthew McClain and his wife, Cheree of Marion, Arkansas; one daughter, Krista McClain of Cleveland, MO; two sisters, Kristy McClain and Merri McClain, both of Belton, MO; four grandchildren, Aaron, Amelia, Kyle and Sydney and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
