Ronald Milton Reeves, Sr., 81, Harrisonville, Missouri, died November 28, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Baptist Church.

Ron was born May 2, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Milton and Kathryn (Phillips) Reeves. On May 23, 1958, he was united in marriage to Ruth Farr of Harrisonville, Missouri. Ron joined the U.S. Navy in 1953 and served until 1957, and the U.S. Navy Reserves until 1961. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and graduated with a degree in Theology. After graduation, they moved to Montgomery, Alabama, where he was employed as a firefighter and started their family, raising three boys.

Returning to Harrisonville in 1971, Ron was employed with the City of Harrisonville Water Department and was also a volunteer for the Harrisonville Fire Department. Ron started working for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDot) in 1984, retiring in 1996. Ron attended Heartland Baptist Church and was always a man of faith. He always loved being around his family.

Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip M. Reeves and one son, Richard A. Reeves. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth; three sons, Ronald M. Reeves, Jr. and wife, Donna, Harrisonville, Missouri, Robert W. Reeves and wife, Nancy, Ozark, Missouri, and Richard L. Reeves, Harrisonville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Ronald M. Reeves, III, Harrisonville, Missouri, Victoria B. Reeves, Branson, Missouri; and one great-granddaughter, Finley M. Reeves, Harrisonville, Missouri.
