Obituary

Rolla Joline "Corky" Sage, Adrian, MO, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, MO.  Funeral services were held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Adrian with burial in Cloud Cemetery, Ballard, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to Truman Lake Manor, Lowry City, MO.

Corky was the oldest of six children born to Glenn Arthur and Ruth Georgia (Kerr) Dille on February 20, 1929. She spent her formative years on a farm in rural Pennsylvania. She met Arthur Erwin Sage, her husband of 66 years, on a trip to Florida. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, they married on September 30, 1947. To this union six children were born, Glenn, Harold, Marian, Bethany, Edith, and Rachel.

Corky accepted Christ after watching a Billy Graham crusade in the early 1950s. From that day forward she loved the Lord and enjoyed telling others about Him. She led her parents to Christ and taught her children to love and serve God. She enjoyed children and served by teaching Vacation Bible School, Girls camp at Kamp Kersey, Sunday school, Training Union, Children's Church, and WMU Director. A visiting pastor never went home hungry. She was a great cook.

Corky was short, strong and powerful! She was full of energy and enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and reading. She was cherished for her homemade Christmas gifts of monkey sock monkeys, music boxes, crocheted angels, Bible bookmarks, pocket pillow blankets, crocheted Barbie dresses and painted step stools.

Corky was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Dille, 2000, her mother, Ruth Dille, 1978, husband, Arthur E. Sage, 2013, son, Glenn Verdier Sage, 2017, daughter, Marian Ann Periman, 1998, and a great-granddaughter, Kassandra Victoria (Twink) Milton, 2004. She is survived by her children, Harold (Ruth) Sage, Appleton City, Beth (Alan) Argabright, Archie, Edith (Chester) Arnold, Dayton, Rachel (Nathan) Gregory, Adrian; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a sister, Debbie Dille, Adrian; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Special thanks to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital and Dr. Mark Snell for the loving care they provide for patients, and to the wonderful care given to Corky during her stay at Truman Lake Manor.
