Rolande Marcella Raines, 84, of Peculiar, MO, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at her home. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Peculiar, MO.

Rolande M. Piffault was born on December 31, 1940, in Cheaumont, France, to Bernard and Bernadette Piffault. She had four siblings: 3 brothers and 1 sister. Rolande married Ed Thomas on November 27, 1960. Together they had two daughters, Deborah Ann and Kathleen Noelle. Rolande worked for NASB in Grandview, MO. She loved to knit, and attend most functions at her church, First Baptist Church of Peculiar. One of her favorite things to do was to visit people in the hospital. She loved people, all people, she never knew a stranger. She will be missed so very much by her husband, Ed, and her daughters, Deborah Jones (Jeff) of Oklahoma; and Kathleen Cook (Corky) of Holton, KS; her granddaughter and 3 great-grandchildren.

Somebody said "Look there she goes," then someone in heaven said "look there she comes again" and she has something to say to those left behind.  "Perhaps you are not ready yet to say goodbye, perhaps you wish you said things you didn't, well so have I. I would have said, don't worry about me because I am with my Lord Jesus in heaven and you should know that is where I would be. I am sorry you are so sad, because I am so happy. I have asked the Lord to ease your hurt and comfort you and I know he will and remember I will be here waiting for you."
