Obituary

Rodger Dennis Danforth, 60, Harrisonville, MO passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at Lee's Summit Medical Center in Lee's Summit, MO.  Memorial services were held  Thursday, October 15 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Harrisonville Youth Football.

Rodger was born March 12, 1960 in Kansas City, MO, a son of Warren Dale and Barbara Ann (Barker) Danforth.  He had lived in the Kansas City, MO area before moving to Harrisonville in 1981.  Rodger married Stephanie Hensley on December 5, 1982 at the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill, MO.  Rodger had worked for the Cass County Assessor's Office as a field appraiser for over 20 years.  He was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Peculiar.  Rodger was an avid Harrisonville High School football fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant brothers, Warren Dale Danforth, Jr. and Raymond Dean Danforth.  He is survived by his wife, Stephanie of the home; one son, Daniel Danforth (Jacklyn), Harrisonville, MO; two daughters, Carla Marie Reisman (Scott), Ft. Worth, TX and Heather Michelle Courtney (Justin), Creighton, MO; five sisters, Deanne Laffoon (Jim), Winter Heaven, FL, Rhonda Boyer, St. Louis, MO, Mary Reed (Randy), Fristoe, MO, Becky Hutchinson (Rick), Jefferson City, MO and Marcie Danforth, Clinton, MO; seven grandchildren, Aaron and Owen Reisman, Adam and Lexi Danforth, and Kylie, Hayleigh and Ava Courtney, and many nieces and nephews.
