Robert Calvin Raynes, 83, Harrisonville, Missouri died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Memorial services will be held at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. with Masonic Services at 6:30. Memorial contributions may be made to Golden Years Care Center Patient Fund or to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund.

Bob was born May 19, 1931 in Odessa, Missouri, the son of Chancy H. and Nellie May (Williams) Raynes. He was a 1949 graduate of Odessa, Missouri Public Schools. Bob attended Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, Missouri before entering the Army where he served in Korea. After serving in the Korean War, Bob returned to college and graduated in 1956 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration and Accounting.

Bob married Carole Schmidli on July 26, 1957 in Odessa, Missouri to which four children were born. He had worked for several companies in the Kansas City area as an accounting supervisor, including IMCO Container Corp., Witte Engine Works, Pitman Manufacturing and the U. S. Postal Service in Kansas City, Kansas. He retired in 1996 after 10 years as the purchasing agent for the City of Harrisonville, Missouri.

Bob was very active in his community and served in numerous clubs and organizations, including member and Past Master of Cass Masonic Lodge #147, Harrisonville, Missouri and member and Past President of Harrisonville Optimist Club. Bob was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Harrisonville. He enjoyed his family and traveling.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and an infant daughter, Karen Lynn. He is survived by his wife, Carole, of the home; two sons, Paul Raynes, Raymore, Missouri, Ron Raynes, Harrisonville, Missouri; one daughter, Lisa Raynes, Kansas City, Missouri, and his special dog, Tiny.
