Robert "Bob" Elden McGowen, 83, of Harrisonville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at his home. Masonic services and  funeral services were held Monday, November 6, 2023 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO, Interment  in Wills Cemetery,  Peculiar, MO.

Bob was born March 8, 1940 to Willard Robert and Lela May (Davis) McGowen in Kansas City, MO. He was a lifelong Harrisonville resident, attended Rodman Rural School # 128, and graduated from Harrisonville High School with the Class of 1958. Bob was united in marriage to Rita Rose Stone on October 19, 1958 at the home of Rev. Joe Brewster in Harrisonville. He worked at Western Electric and AT&T as a machine setter, retiring after 35 years. Bob was a 57-year member of Cass Masonic Lodge #147 in Harrisonville.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and a brother.  He is survived by his wife, Rita McGowen, of the home; his daughters: Terrie Slocum and husband, Mark, of Lee's Summit, MO; and Victoria McGowen, of Harrisonville, MO; 5 grandchildren: Ashley, Carley, Matthew, Keeley and Lake; 3 great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard McGowen, of Harrisonville, MO; and his sisters: Mary Thompson, of Harrisonville, and Margaret Coons, of Chariton, Iowa.
