Robert "Bob" Milton Lyon, 72, of West Line, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at KC Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO,  Interment  at Glenwild Cemetery in West Line, MO. Friends and family gathering was held, after the funeral, at West Line Community building, 501 N Main, West Line, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to KC Hospice House.

Bob was born on May 16, 1953, in Harrisonville, MO, to Donald Milton and Patricia Lou (Richardson) Lyon, Bob was a life-long resident of the West Line, MO area. Bob lived a life marked by a deep love for family and community. Bob graduated from Cass Midway High School, Class of 1971, and went on to build a career that reflected both his skill and determination. He spent over 25 years working as an interior and exterior painter-both self-employed and with Barnhart Painting-earning a reputation for quality workmanship. In addition to his painting career, he worked in factory positions at General Motors and Western Electric.

He was a man of many interests and talents. A devoted fan of Kansas City Chiefs football, Bob found joy in cheering on his team through every season. His love for music was evident in his ability to play the 12-string guitar-a passion he carried throughout his life and shared with his son, Tyler. His favorite music was the Beatles and anything performed by his son, Tyler. He also enjoyed playing pool and at one time owned a pool hall in Freeman. Other activities he enjoyed were bowling, volleyball, photography and fishing. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He loved his long motorcycle rides exploring the countryside. He took great pride in his lawn care. Whether competing or relaxing, Bob approached each activity with enthusiasm and a competitive spirit that inspired those around him.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Steven Lyon and Eric Sechrest; his sister, Vicki Lyon; and his long-time beloved pets: Eleanor Rigby (Ellie), Sadie, and Penny Lane.  Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lori Lyon; and his children: Shanda Lyon (Pat Ryberg) of Harrisonville, MO; Tyler Lyon (Sammy Murawka) of Lee's Summit, MO; Kristina Carter (Jermar) of Belton, MO; and Kelley Knight (Gary) of Raymore, MO. He was a proud Poppi to Skyler, Corbin, Jaylen, Mason, Alaura, Alyna, Kaiden, Addie, Hunter, Lanah, Braylen, and Emmaline. He is also survived by his sisters: Donna (Ray) Barret of West Line, MO; and Lori Brock of Cleveland, MO; his sisters-in-law: Gail Lyon of West Line, MO; and Debbie Turner of Grandview, MO; and brothers-in-law: Mike (Jan) Long of Grandview, MO; and Rich (Kay) Long of Broken Arrow, OK; as well as, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and his beloved chihuahua, Martha My Dear "Mattie".

Bob will be remembered for his vast knowledge of what he referred to as useless information. He was always willing to share his information with anyone who was available to listen. He left a lasting impression on all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
