Robert "Rob" Dale Long, 43, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the children.

Rob was born October 2, 1969 in Independence, Missouri, the son of Franklin Dale and Vicki Lynn (Brecht) Long. He grew up in Lee's Summit, Missouri and was a 1988 graduate of Lee's Summit High School. He worked for B.T.M. in Kansas City for 15 years as a machinist.

Rob is survived by his fiancée, JoAnn Richards, Harrisonville, Missouri; children, Jacob Robert Long, Haley Diane Lynn Long, Autumn Alice May Long, Austin Dale Long, Brian Joseph Myers, Blake Leon Myers, Dallas Brandon Myers, all of Harrisonville, Missouri; his parents, Frank and Vicki Long, Lee's Summit, Missouri; one brother, Michael Lee Long, Kansas City, Missouri; maternal grandfather, Lloyd Brecht, Warrensburg, Missouri.
