Robert Lee Herndon, Sr., 71, Cleveland, MO, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at his home. Funeral services 1:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, November 8, at the chapel. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Bob was born July 25, 1936 in Independence, MO, the son of Earl F. and Ilene (Higginbotham) Herndon. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958.

Bob married Erma Lea Gaddy on September 3, 1960 in Fort Scott, KS. He retired from Bendix in 1995 where he was a machining supervisor. He also worked as a stocker at Wal-Mart.

Bob enjoyed fishing, gardening, wildlife, football, basketball and the companionship of his dogs. He also loved spoiling his grandchildren and nieces and nephews with candy or whatever else they wanted!

Survivors include his wife, Erma L. Herndon, of the home; one son, Robert L. Herndon, Jr. and his wife, Rhonda, Adrian, MO; one daughter, Brenda Lea Herndon, Cleveland, MO; two brothers, Fred Herndon, Cleveland, MO, and Raymond Herndon, Stillwell, KS; two grandchildren, Jason and Shelby and many nieces and nephews.
