Robert Franks, 89, of Harrisonville, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO. Funeral services were held at  the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville on Monday, January 29, 2024. Interment  in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd's Staff Food Pantry in Harrisonville, MO.

Robert was born on November 25, 1934, in Swain, Arkansas, a son of Floyd and Ruth (Johnson) Franks. Robert spent his formative years surrounded by the beauty of rural life. A driven individual, he ventured to Kansas City, MO, in his early twenties before ultimately settling in Harrisonville in the early 1960's, making it his beloved hometown. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1955 -1957.

During his career, Robert proudly served as a Technical Carrier Trainer for TWA, leaving an indelible mark on the airline industry. With his unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence, he made a lasting impact on the lives of his colleagues and the countless individuals he mentored throughout his time at the airline. After retiring from TWA, Robert's passion for cars led him to establish Franks Auto Sales, where he showcased his expertise in buying, selling, and repairing vehicles. With an infectious enthusiasm, Robert shared his knowledge and love for automobiles with the community, creating lasting connections and friendships along the way. He also was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and his son, Wayne Franks. He leaves behind his children: Phil (Leasa) Franks of Amarillo, TX; Cynthia Rowland of Bolivar, MO; and Lesa Miller of Harrison, AR; his grandchildren: Jenny Novak, Stephen (Caroline) Rowland, and Jessica (Gerardo) Delatorre; great-grandchildren: Austyn, Lexy, and Ryder Delatorre; his brother, Wes Franks; and his beloved dog, Tina.
