Robert F. Bruce, Jr., 78, Archie, MO, passed away at his home in rural Archie on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Memorial services were held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO, with inurnment in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian. The family requests no flowers, with memorial contributions to the Robert Bruce memorial fund c/o Atkinson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 325, Adrian, MO 64720.

Robert was born November 8, 1938 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Robert F. and Lorene (Franz) Bruce. He attended school in Kansas City. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marines and served for four years.

After leaving the Marines, Robert worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also was a league bowler for many years. Robert was united in marriage to Anna Jean Greer on June 30, 1961 in Kansas City, MO. To this union three children were born.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Jean on June 9, 1989, one son, Lance Bruce, his parents, and two sisters, Elma Price and Ella May Igo. He is survived by one son, Mark Bruce and his partner, Carrie Huff, of the home; one daughter, Susan Farr and her husband, Gene, Emporia, KS; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Farr and Jacob Farr, both of Emporia, KS, and Megan Bruce and her partner, Joshua McCall, Liberty, MO; 2 great-grandchildren, Malakai and Belle Cotton; his twin sister, Nancy Finley, and a brother, Harry Bruce, both of Kansas City, MO.
