Robert "Rob" Lee Briggs, 56, of Cleveland, Missouri died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Meadowview Health Care in Harrisonville, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri, with burial in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri. The family will receive friends Saturday July 12, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.


Rob was born August 3, 1957 in Kansas City, MO to Wilbur Dale and Evelyn Joan (Getty) Briggs. He was a lifelong Freeman-Cleveland, Missouri resident. Rob was a 1975 graduate of Cass Midway High School in Cleveland. He was a member of the Harley Owner Group (HOG) and was a member of the Freeman Baptist Church. He was the owner of Rob's Brokerage Service in Cleveland, MO.

Rob was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Briggs, and his sister, Dale Ann Fugate. He is survived by one son, Air Force Tech Sergeant Robert Briggs II and his wife, Brandy, of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, OK; his father, Wilbur Briggs of Freeman, MO; brothers Larry "Peanut" Briggs and wife, Dana, Peculiar, MO; and John Briggs and wife, Diana, Freeman, MO; a sister, Brenda Lavery and husband, Ron, of Freeman, MO; two granddaughters, Reaghan and Ryleigh; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Freeman Baptist Church, Freeman, Missouri.
