Robert "Bob" Lee Blackman, 80, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Memorial services were held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. A burial service will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Bob was born June 11, 1942 in Denison, Iowa, a son of Lyle and Mina Juanita (Hattery) Blackman. He had lived in Pleasant Hill, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville. Bob was united in marriage for 45 years to Mary E. Roberts on June 14, 1977 in Miami, Oklahoma. He had worked for RBI in Pleasant Hill and Harrisonville, and Sioux Chief before his retirement. Bob was an active member of the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791 in Harrisonville.

Bob is survived by his wife and family, Mary E. Blackman, Harrisonville; stepson, Michael Mallory, Lees Summit, MO; a daughter, Kimberly Morley, Pleasant Hill, MO;  4 grandchildren: Adam, Jason, Matthew and Madison; his best friend from age 5, Gene Fredrickson, Onawa, IA; a son, Tommy Blackman; two daughters, Deborah and Susan; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Also, his baby, as he referred to his dog, and constant companion, Missy.

Bob for many years loved to bowl, play in horseshoe competitions, fish and he loved to dance. He enjoyed watching Nascar, naturally cheering on his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. Bob was a man with a cheerful soul; he never met a stranger that he wouldn't smile at, shake their hand and carry on a conversation as if he had known them for years. Before moving to Harrisonville, Bob was known in the neighborhood as the one you could ask for help.  He would often be seen with his companion, Missy, going to neighbor's doors to lend a helping hand.

He will be forever in our hearts.
