Robert Lee Barnard, 81 of Harrisonville, MO, died Friday, January 22, 2010 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. The family will receive friends Sunday 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the chapel.


Robert was born June 4, 1928 in Cleveland, Missouri, a son of Clyde Velmer and Kate Christine (Eiffert)Barnard.

Robert was a lifelong Harrisonville resident. He had worked at Hurley Lumber Co. in Harrisonville and retired in 1986 from Twin City Tool in Olathe, Kansas.

Robert married Ruth Ann David on November 1, 1952. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2009.

Robert is survived by one son, Bobby Barnard of Harrisonville, MO; one daughter, Debbie Schipper of Harrisonville, MO; three brothers, James Barnard of Dayton, MO, Bill Barnard of Harrisonville, MO and Ira Barnard of Adrian, MO; two sisters, Betty Huggins of Dayton, MO and Rose McAllister of Harrisonville, MO; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
