Ricky Dale Wright, 62, of Peculiar, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025 from 8pm to 10pm at The Lumber Co Event Space, 109 E Broadway, Peculiar, MO 64078. Bring your favorite beverage for the celebration.

Born on May 8, 1963, in El Paso, Texas, to Harvey Dale Wright and Peggy (Benton) Speer, Rick was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, whose warmth and love touched the lives of all who knew him. Rick graduated from Belton High School as a proud member of the Class of 1981. He dedicated much of his professional life to the painting industry, working for House of Loyd for 18 years, followed by the Shawnee Mission School District for 13 years. A lifelong resident of Cass County, Rick was committed to his local community and made lasting friendships along the way.

Rick's life was rich with passions - he was an enthusiastic hunter and an avid fisherman, often found by the water's edge, rod in hand, embracing the serenity and joy that the great outdoors provided. Those who shared his love for nature will always remember him as a steadfast companion, reveling in the simple pleasures of life. On October 20, 2012, Rick married Threasa Wright, and together they created a loving home filled with laughter and support.

Rick was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Threasa; his mother, Peggy Speer; his step-father, Dennis Speer; his sons: Jake Wiseman, Matthew Wright, Brandon Wright, Tyler Gibson, and Toby Gibson; his brothers: Mike Wright of Palm Coast, FL; Shannon Speer of Belton, MO; and Troy Wright of Utah; as well as, six cherished grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy of love and kindness.
