Richard "Rick" Eugene Boatwright, 82, Harrisonville, MO, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024 at his home with family by his side. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Interment  at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Shiloh Center in Harrisonville, MO.

Rick was born December 18, 1941 in Moberly, MO to Delmer Lawrence and Mary Martha (Meyers) Boatwright. He married Roxanne (Shedden) Boatwright on November 3, 1961 in Kansas City, MO. Rick worked as a machinist at Boatwright's Machine Shop, which he owned and operated as President, until his retirement in 2001. He loved all things outdoors: hunting, fishing, boating, and camping, especially with his sons and grandchildren. In recent years, his enjoyment came from spending time with his companion and friend, Shirley.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Roxanne; and one son, Richie Boatwright. He is survived by his beloved, Shirley Myers, of the home; three sons: Del Boatwright (Debbie), Harrisonville, MO; Rod Boatwright (Cindy), Harrisonville, MO; and Rusty Boatwright (Angela), Archie, MO; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer (Sam) Blosser, Zack (Katie) Boatwright, Laura (Shane) Roberts, Valerie (Brandon) Lane, Bryan Boatwright, Alyssa, Nicky Alyea, Rose Alyea, Rachel Boatwright, and Carly Boatwright; 7 great-grandchildren: Zoey, Calvin, Izabel, Isla, Alayna, Eliza, Zaiyah, and one on the way; and one sister, Donna Grossman, Spring Hill, KS.
