Richard "Rich" Lee Diamond, 75, Belton, MO, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery in Cleveland, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Richard was born July 8, 1936 in Cleveland, MO, the son of Bernie L. and Surepta E. (Douglass) Diamond. He was a 1956 graduate of Freeman High School. He was a lifelong Cass County, MO resident. He had lived in Belton for over 40 years.
Richard worked for Sun Chemical in Kansas City, MO, from 1968-1999, as a shipping/receiving clerk and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a Methodist. Richard loved riding motorcycles and Karaoke. He was an Army Veteran.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Travis on May 21, 1970 and two brothers, Orville and Bob Diamond. He is survived by one son, John Diamond, Raymore, MO; one daughter, Diana Watskey and her husband, William, Belton, MO; five brothers, Raymond Diamond, Peculiar, MO, Ernie Diamond, Peculiar, MO, Ray Diamond, Liberty, MO, Jim Diamond, Lee's Summit, MO and Frank Diamond, Adrian, MO; other relatives and friends.
