Richard "Yogi" Dean Wimsatt, 67, Adrian, MO, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, MO.  Funeral services were held  Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian.  Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Adrian Volunteer Fire Department.

Yogi was born January 17, 1951 in Butler, MO, the son of Richard Lawrence and Jewel Dean (Gillis) Wimsatt.  He was a 1969 graduate of Adrian High School. After high school he attended the Kansas City Electronics Institute and graduated in 1971. Yogi served 6 years in Kansas National Guard doing his basic training at Ft. Polk, Louisiana.  He worked at the Leeds General Motors Plant from 1973 to 1987.  He drove a propane truck for the CO-OP in Adrian and later for Wimsatt Propane in Adrian.  He was a former member of the Adrian Volunteer Fire Department.

Yogi loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He would often take trips out of state to do both but especially enjoyed fishing at his spot in Papinville.

He is survived by two sons, Chris Wimsatt, Butler, MO and Justin Wimsatt (Diane), Adrian, MO; his mother, Jewel Dean Wimsatt, Adrian; one brother, Randy Wimsatt (Vicki), Adrian; one sister, Sandy Highley (Owen), Kearney, MO, and five grandchildren, Kireston Luptak, Kamiron Luptak, Kerigan Wimsatt, Kendal Wimsatt, and Kooper Wimsatt.
