Richard was born July 8, 1935 to Roy Z. and Mille M. (Ketner) Clark at their home in Burdett, MO. He began school at Burdett Country School and then attended Adrian High School, where he graduated. After school he married Sherry Holmes and together they had three children, Michell, Shelly and Robert. Along with farming, which was his favorite job, he also held jobs at Butler Manufacturing, USDA as a Meat/Dairy Tester, Hickman Mills School District, and served as Bates County Northern Commissioner. He enjoyed going to cattle auctions to keep up on the current market, but more importantly to keep up with his fellow farmer friends. He collected antique John Deere tractors, enjoyed eating and sharing his jelly beans, making root beer floats for his grandchildren when they visited, and cooking the best ham that was always requested at gatherings and events.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; previous wife Sherry; daughter, Michell Lewis; son-in-law, James Davolt; brother, Jerry Clark; sisters: Doris Nelson and Jean Stark. He is survived by his son, Robert (Sherri) Clark of Auburn, WA; daughter, Shelly Davolt of Independence, MO; his brother, Bill (Deana) Clark of Adrian; grandchildren: Barry Davolt, Cameron Settle, Skarlett Parra, Preston Lewis, Kylee Ridgeway, and Rylee Clark; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
