Richard Clark "R.C." Lacy, 83 of Raymore, MO, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Foxwood Springs Living Center in Raymore, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Raymore Christian Church, 500 Peace Drive, Raymore, MO. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO. Box 680, Raymore, MO 64083.
R. C. was born May 15, 1926 in Harrisonville, MO, the son of Richard Reece and Lucy Elsie (Brown) Lacy. He married Leah Roberta Richardson on November 28, 1946. R. C. received his degree as an electrical engineer from Finley Engineering School in Kansas City, MO. He was a project engineer for Stanley Consultants in Muscatine, Iowa and retired in 1990 as a chief engineer for the Illinois Rural Electric Company in Jacksonville, Illinois. He was a member of the Society of Registered Professional Engineers.
R. C. was a lifelong member of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church and had served as an Elder. R. C. was a 50-year Masonic Lodge member and currently a member of the Grand River Masonic Lodge No. 276, Freeman, MO. He was also a Shriner, a past member of the Rotary Club, the Lions Club and was a member of the Freeman Historical Society. R. C. was a WWII U. S. Navy veteran.
R. C. was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and one grandson. He is survived by his wife, Leah of Raymore, MO; three daughters, Pam Fultz of North Liberty, IA, Gayla Nickel and her husband, Dave of Reno, NV and Sarah Green and her husband, Steven of Blue Springs, MO; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
