Raymond C. Watts, 70, Peculiar, Missouri, died Sunday, December 16, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, December 20 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-12:00. Burial will be in Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791, Harrisonville, MO.
Raymond was born August 18, 1942 in Cedar County, Missouri, the son of Jess and Bernice (Fondes) Watts. He grew up in El Dorado Springs, Missouri and was a 1960 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School. Raymond married Delores J. Kellhofer on March 15, 1963 in Wentworth, Missouri. He lived in Independence, Missouri for 13 years before moving to Peculiar in 1979.
Raymond worked for Yellow Freight for 25 years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #41 in Kansas City, Missouri and was a member of the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Gene Kellhofer, two half brothers, John Watts and Eldie Richardson, and two sisters-in-law, Jan Watts and Lou Kellhofer. He is survived by his wife, Delores, of the home; one daughter, Debra Dias and husband, Roger, Madison, New Jersey; three sons, Raymond M. Watts and wife, Dana, Atchison, Kansas, Steven C. Watts and wife, Carol, Belton, Missouri and Russell Watts and wife, Victoria, Kansas, Oklahoma; two brothers, Jesse Watts and wife, Joyce, El Dorado Springs, Missouri and Tommy Watts, Kansas City, Missouri; mother-in-law, Wilma Kellhofer, Pierce City, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Doris Johnson and husband, Clifford, Raymore, Missouri, Hazel Lauderdale and husband, James, Sparta, Missouri, Lynn Kellhofer, Monett, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Don Kellhofer, Pierce City, Missouri and Dale Kellhofer and wife, Katie, Wentworth, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 16 nieces and nephews.
