Raymond F. Diamond, 94, Peculiar, Missouri, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial services were held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the First Baptist Church-Heartland, Belton, Missouri. Burial will be in the Blalock Cemetery in Timberlake, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Academy Christian School in Belton, Missouri.
Raymond was born March 28, 1921 in Kanopolis, Kansas, a son of Bernie Lee and Surepta Elzina (Douglas) Diamond. He was united in marriage to Goldie Etta Chambers on March 2, 1946 in Durham, North Carolina. Raymond and Goldie moved to Belton in 1954, and moved to Peculiar in 1977.
Raymond was a U.S. WWII Army Veteran and had been a member of the First Baptist Church Heartland in Belton since 1955. Raymond worked at Bendix 15 years and later worked as a rural mail carrier at the Belton Post Office. He retired in 1988 after 28 years with the Postal Service.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Orville, Robert, Richard, and Jim. He is survived by his wife, Goldie Diamond and a daughter, Ava M. Diamond, both of the home in Peculiar, Missouri; one son, Ronald J. Diamond and wife, Mary Ann, St. Louis, Missouri; three brothers, Ernest Diamond, Peculiar, Missouri, Ray Diamond and wife, Colleen, Liberty, Missouri, and Frank Diamond and wife, Nancy, Drexel, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Sally Diamond, Lee's Summit, Missouri; three grandchildren, Amanda Niebruegge and husband, John, Jessica Diamond and Matthew Diamond.
