Ray Cusumano, age 80, of Adrian, MO, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Medicalodge in Butler, MO.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Adrian United Methodist Church or to the Boy Scouts Troop 238 in Adrian.

Ray was born on October 24, 1938 in St. Louis, MO to Anthony and Charlotte (Mais) Cusumano.  On October 26, 1958, he married Betty Lou Bridges of Adrian, MO.  In December 1957, Ray enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving until May 1962.  After serving his country, he worked in the banking industry in Kansas City until retirement.  He was a member of the Adrian United Methodist Church and served as mayor of Adrian in 2008.

Ray was a proud member of BSA Troop 238, earning his Eagle Scout Award in 1954.  He served as Scoutmaster and in various leadership roles for many years.  He was a Sachem and served on the tribal council with the tribe of Mic-O-Say.  He enjoyed traveling, hiking, Civil War history and good music played at a reasonable volume.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and one brother.  He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Steve Cusumano (Beth), of Monterey, CA, and Brian Cusumano (Amy),  of Pinehurst, NC; three grandchildren, Steve Cusumano (Colleen), of Farmington, MI, Andrew  Cusumano (Morgan), of St. Louis, MO, and Carina Cusumano of San Jose, CA, and one great-grandson, Liam.  He is also survived by his two brothers, identical twin Robert Cusumano (Cathy), of Gardner, KS, and Mike Cusumano (Kate), of Oro Valley, AZ; and a sister, Rose Cusumano, of Kansas City, MO.
