Obituary

Randolph "Randy" Stephen Flint, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on June 28, 1949, in Killeen, Texas, to Robert Clark and Doris Laverne (Joy) Flint, Randy grew up with a sense of adventure and dedication, values that would later define his life and service.

Randy graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in Missouri and went on to enlist in the United States Navy on October 17, 1967, serving his country with honor as a Torpedoman's Mate aboard a submarine. Over the course of his 20-plus years of devoted service, he exemplified the values of duty and loyalty, earning the respect and admiration of his peers before retiring on November 30, 1991.

After his military career, Randy made his home in several communities across Missouri, including Pleasant Hill, Holden, and Blairstown, before settling in Garden City, MO, where he resided for the last 10 years of his life. He will be remembered for his warm spirit and zest for life, particularly in his passion for golf. As an avid golfer and cherished member of the Twin Pines Country Club, he found joy in the links, where he shared many a laugh and competed with friends. Randy will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. We celebrate a life well-lived and the countless memories that will stay with us forever.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Arthur Smith; two sisters, Diane and Betty; his brother, Billy; and his grandsons: Jordan and Michael. He leaves behind his sons, Steve and Shawn Flint, both of Kansas City, MO; his brothers, Bob Smith and Robert Flint; his sisters, Marilyn Fields and Becky Curtin; and his cherished grandchildren, William and Xander; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, brothers-in law, sisters-in law, and many friends. Each of them carries a piece of his heart and legacy, and they will forever honor his memory.

Inurnment and military honors will be held at the Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri at a later date.
