Ramona Smith, 74, of Harrisonville, Mo., passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 surrounded by family in her home. Ramona was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a dear friend. Her sense of humor, gratitude, and kind spirit will be remembered by those who knew her.

Ramona was born on November 6, 1947, in Joplin to Virgil and Effie (Crane) Bristow. She attended Carl Junction High School and graduated in 1966. Ramona married Loren Wayne Smith on October 21, 1966. They raised three children together in their home in Carl Junction.

Ramona worked for a number of years at Freeman Hospital in Joplin as part of the medical billing department until her retirement. She was most recently a member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Harrisonville.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Loren, of Harrisonville; her children: Melissa (John) Hofer, of Harrisonville; Nicole (Steve) Baxley, of Shalimar, Fla.; and Joe Smith, of Harrisonville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Virgil Bristow; brother, Dale L. Bristow; and sister, Kay Baker.

Visitation and Memorial Services were held on Saturday, March 19, 2022  at Cornerstone Community Church in Harrisonville.  Graveside services were held at Carl Junction Cemetery on Monday, March 21, 2022.
