Ralph L. Kassien, 93, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away February 10, 2023 at his home in Raymore. Memorial services  were held   Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Raymore Christian Church. Inurnment  in the Raymore Christian Church Columbarium.

Ralph was born June 8, 1929 in Elgin, Illinois, a son of Frank and Ella Anna Matilda (Volkening) Kassien. He spent his first three years in Elgin before the family moved to a dairy farm in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Ralph attended school in Wisconsin Rapids, and immediately following high school joined the US Army Air Corp, serving as a flight engineer and navigator on a B-29.

Ralph was united in marriage to Mary Alice Baker on February 10, 1951. They made their home in Kansas City, MO, before moving to Raymore in the early 1990s. He worked for Armco Steel in Kansas City as a metallurgist for 39 years before retiring in 1989. Ralph had been a member and elder of the Hickman Mills Community Christian Church in Kansas City, and was an elder and former church treasurer at the Raymore Christian Church. He was currently attending the Raymore Church of Love. He was a member and former president of the Morningview Homeowners Association in Raymore. Ralph was a long-time Chiefs season ticketholder, hardly ever missing a game. His priorities were Family, Church, and the Chiefs!

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on December 4, 2017; his parents; three brothers: Franklin, LeRoy, and Harold; and a sister, Marj Zimmerman. He is survived by two children: Sandra (Mike) Burger and Keith (Marie) Kassien, all of Overland Park, KS; two sisters: Marion Vanlandingham and Joan Schara, both of Sun City, AZ; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Drew) Swisher, Lauren (Ben) Williams, and Christopher Kassien; great-grandson, Nathan Swisher; and many other relatives and friends.
