Phyllis Rose Moyer, 77, Prairie Village, KS, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO.
Rose was born January 12, 1932 in Drexel, MO, the daughter of Ralph and Faye (Childress) Burchett. She was a 1950 graduate of Archie High School. She married Walter Edward Moyer on December 31, 1971.
Rose worked for Sears for 38 years, retiring from the 95th & Metcalf store in 1988. She was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church in Prairie Village. She enjoyed woodworking.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, three brothers, Clyde, Earl and Phillip Roe and one sister, Mary Lou. She is survived by one son, David Moyer, Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Julia Finley, Parsons, KS; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
