Perry "Gene" Eugene Goddard, 86, Cleveland, MO, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his home.  No services are scheduled at this time.

Gene was born December 18, 1932 in Louisburg, KS, a son of Ralph Perry and Vivian Maxine (Wilcox) Goddard.  He was a graduate of Freeman High School and was a lifelong resident of West Line, MO.  He married Doris Louise Fort on January 12, 1952 in Drexel, MO.  Gene was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Perry was a Union Pipefitter, retiring October 1, 1988, and was a member of the Pipefitters Local #533, Kansas City, MO.  He had also worked for Crabtree Harmon Bus Company and Ford Motor Company.  Perry was a member of West Line Christian Church, Grand River Masonic Lodge No. 276, Freeman, MO.  He was also an Eagle Scout and was a former member of the Cass-Midway School Board.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris on February 21, 2019, and a daughter, Linda Louise Hager.  He is survived by three sons, Darrel Goddard (Christy), Freeman, MO, Perry Alan Goddard (Denise), Cleveland, MO, and Chris L. Goddard (Karla), Freeman, MO; one daughter, Gwenna K. Baker (Chuck), Cleveland, MO; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
