Peggy Ann Shipley, 87, Archie, MO, died Monday, June 18, 2018 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Memorial services were held June 21, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.

Peggy was born April 30, 1931 on the old home place, north of the Grand River Baptist Church in Harrisonville, MO. She was the daughter of Albert Lee and Gladys (Moul) Goddard.

Peggy was a member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Archie and was baptized in the South Fork of the Grand River. She met her future husband, Donald Eugene Shipley, at Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church. They married on October 10, 1948 at the home of Rev. Joe Brewster.

Peggy worked on the farm and she enjoyed bowling, quilting and crocheting. She attended Bybee Rural School #89 and Hickory Grove Rural School #85 and Harrisonville High School.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don on May 29, 2018, and two sisters, Doris Marrs and Lora Lavon Sutton. She is survived by one son, Billy Joe Shipley (Teola-Rea), Archie, MO; two daughters, Donna Jean Peirce, Archie, and Deborah Ann Smith (Keith Lilly), Lee's Summit, MO; one sister, Nina Jean Holt, Harrisonville, MO; 6 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
