Peggy Ann Edmondson, 90, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Funeral services were held at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO. Contributions may be made to the Harrisonville Animal Shelter.
Peggy was born on July 12, 1935, in Harrisonville, MO, a daughter of William Eugene and Lucille Beatrice (Richardson) Drehle. She was from a large family, having three brothers and three sisters, and was a lifelong Harrisonville resident. Peggy attended two rural schools growing up, Brush College Rural School #65 and Bill's Rural School #90, both in Harrisonville. She was united in marriage to Alva Gene Edmondson on July 24, 1954, in Harrisonville, by Rev. George Monroe and together they raised their four children. Peggy worked a few years at Hardee's restaurant in Harrisonville, but her main passion was babysitting and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, embroidery, and tending her flowers.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alva, on Feb. 2, 1998; a son, Alva Dean Edmondson, on May 30, 1989; three brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her son, Tommy Edmondson, Peculiar, MO; two daughters: Karen Yoss, Harrisonville, MO; and Carol Vest, Grandview, MO; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews.
