Peggy Joan (Bradley) Clum, a beloved figure in the Harrisonville community, passed away peacefully on her 89th birthday, December 2, 2025, after a long illness. Her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family and friends. A visitation,  Eastern Star Service, and a memorial service  were held on  Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Harrisonville United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Harrisonville American Red Cross or the Harrisonville United Methodist Church, reflecting her unwavering commitment to helping others.

Born on December 2, 1936, in Harrisonville, MO, Peggy was the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Schoenfeld) Bradley. She spent her childhood in Gunn City, MO, and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1954. On April 7, 1956, she married her beloved husband, Bill Clum, and together they raised three remarkable children: Becky, Chandra, and Kerby. Their love formed the foundation of a nurturing household, which continued to thrive until Bill's passing in 2013 after 56 cherished years together.

Peggy is best known for the love of her family and friends and her career in banking. Peggy's career as a loan officer in banking spanned over three decades, beginning as a legal secretary for a local attorney, she took a position at Citizens National Bank in 1967, which evolved into esteemed positions such as, Consumer and Real Estate Lending Officer, Merchant Bankcard Director, and Senior Partner Coordinator, at Commerce Bank of Harrisonville. Known for her dedication and professionalism, she retired as Assistant Vice President in 1999. Peggy's commitment to her community extended beyond her professional life; she made history as the first woman City Council Member in Harrisonville in 1975 and was honored with induction into the Harrisonville High School Wall of Fame in 2010.

Her influence stretched far and wide, reflected in her extensive volunteer work with organizations such as the American Red Cross, Twin Pines Country Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scout Troop 100, United Way, and Cass Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Peggy held leadership roles in various civic endeavors, including being an Officer of Eastern Star, a past Worthy Advisor to Rainbow Girls, Assistant Treasurer and Founding Donor for the Harrisonville Public School Foundation, Secretary of the Business and Professional Women's Group, a Trustee of the United Methodist Church, Past President of the Chaldeans, and Treasurer for the Oakland Cemetery Board.

Peggy's tireless spirit was recognized with numerous accolades, celebrating her selfless service and dedication to the betterment of her community, including the 1995 Chamber of Commerce Commendation for Community Service, the 1986 American Red Cross Outstanding Fundraiser-Public Relations Volunteer Award, and the 1989 Business and Professional Woman the Year Award. In 1975, Peggy was instrumental in the creation and organization of Student Government Day which is long running for High School Students. She also served on the Steering Committee responsible for the restoration of the Rockford 1-Room Schoolhouse.

Peggy took great joy in her family, leaving behind her loving children: Rebecca "Becky" Clum, Chandra (Keith) Henthorne, and William Kerby Clum. She also cherished her role as a grandmother to Jayson Travis (Carrie) Ware and Piper Henthorne, and was blessed with six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will resonate through the lives she touched. As we gather to celebrate Peggy's life, we remember a woman whose warmth and compassion enriched the community of Harrisonville, which was so very blessed to have Peggy call it her home.
