Obituary

Ida Pauline Clevenger, 89, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Burial will be held in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to: Cass Career Center FFA, 1600 East Elm Street, Harrisonville, MO 64701.

Pauline was born April 4, 1925 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Ira M. and Flora B. (Chastain) Dodson. She attended schools in Springfield, Republic and Ash Grove, Missouri. She graduated from Louisburg, Missouri High School in 1942. She moved to Kansas City, Kansas where she worked at the North American Aviation Plant during WWII. Pauline was united in marriage to Norman Lee Creek in 1946 and they made their home in Buffalo, Missouri. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Buffalo.

Pauline was united in marriage to Claton Clevenger in 1963. They had lived in Kansas City, Kansas, Iowa and Belton, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville in 2002. She worked for B.M.A. and Gulf Insurance for 10 years as an accounting clerk until her retirement in 1989.
Pauline loved to sew, make crafts and travel and she had visited most of the United States including a trip to Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Norman Creek and Claton Clevenger; two brothers, Lloyd and Loran Dodson and one sister, Iva (Dodson) Fergus. She is survived by one daughter, Norma Hibner of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one son, Don Creek and wife, Carol of Peculiar, Missouri; stepsons, Bill Clevenger and wife, Marie, Harrisonville, and Cla Clevenger and wife, Eloise of Kansas City, Missouri; stepdaughters, Beverly Byrd and husband, Don of Harrisonville, Mary Lou Murphy and husband, Barry of Garden City, Missouri; one brother, Jim Dodson and wife, Louise of San Bernardino, California; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were all very special to her and she loved them all.
