Paul Wayne Weeks, 91, Springdale, AR, formerly of Belton, MO, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Springdale Health & Rehabilitation in Springdale, AR. Inurnment will be in West Union Cemetery in Cleveland, MO.


Wayne was born April 14, 1918 in Peculiar, MO, the son of Edward and Grace (Woodward) Weeks. He was a lifelong Cass County, MO area resident and was known as "Red" by his many friends. He had lived in Belton, MO and Harrisonville, MO before moving to Pineville, MO two years ago and moved to Springdale in October, 2008. Wayne was married to Vida Weeks who died in May, 1971. He married Beryl Venita Gregory in September, 1974.


Wayne was a U. S. Army Air Corp veteran serving in England during WWII. He owned Weeks Jewelry in Belton, MO for over 30 years, retiring in 1979. He was a 50-year member of the Belton Masonic Lodge.

"Speaking for myself, he sure made a huge difference in my life. Without his love for me and my family, I would never have known what it felt like to be special to a father and my sons would not have known a Grandpa at all. I would not have gotten to see a man make my mother happy and loved, and he even made my Grandma Hundley's life more special in ways neither of her sons had that I can remember. Then there is, Mike, the brother and his family he gave to us. I can't imagine life without you all and the laughter we enjoy. Dad helped me feel like I belonged when he made me an "honorary Weeks" in his family. I love you all, Emma (sister/mom/aunt)"


Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and his wife, Vida in May, 1971. He is survived by his wife, Beryl, of the home; one son, Michael Weeks and his wife, Jan, Pineville, MO; three daughters, Harriet Benjamin, Seattle, WA, Emma Bartley, Indianapolis, IN and Margaret Johnson, and her husband, Ellis, Rockport ,TX, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
