IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul William
Holloway
January 7, 1947 – January 29, 2026
Paul William Holloway was born January 7, 1947, to James 'Delbert' Holloway and Clara Josephine (Newell) Holloway in Richland, MO. He passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 2026, at the age of 79.
Paul was born and raised in Richland, Missouri, where he attended school and graduated from Richland High School. Following graduation, he began working at the local garment factory before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. In September of 1969, Paul met Carolyn (Joyce) Mayfield, and the couple quickly fell in love, becoming engaged by Thanksgiving. They were married on January 24, 1970, at the Grandview First Nazarene Church. Paul dedicated 25 years to military service, retiring from the Air Force in 1990. After his military retirement, he continued his career in several government positions until fully retiring in 2014.
Paul proudly served in the Air Force, traveling to several different places like Thailand, the Azores (Portugal), Germany, and stationed on bases across the United States. Those experiences stayed with him, just as his love for the outdoors did- whether he was working in his garden, taking a walk through town, or admiring the craftsmanship and character of cars. He found comfort in Westerns, joy in wandering auctions, and purpose in doing the things that he loved. Above all, Paul's greatest pride was his grandchildren. There was nothing that meant more to him than being there cheering them on during any life event, supporting them with unwavering love, and leaving them with memories that they will forever carry with them.
Paul William Holloway is preceded in death by his parents: James and Clara; siblings: Fonnie, Walter, Joan, Charles, Junior, John, and Clara Mae. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Holloway: daughters: Diane (Justin) Wimsatt of Adrian, MO and Jamie (Todd) Martin of Adrian, MO; grandchildren: Kireston (Paige) Luptak, Kamiron (Driston) Luptak-Self, Kerigan (Walker) Wimsatt-Burgin, Kendal Wimsatt, Justin Kooper Wimsatt, Joshua Kussmaul, William Kussmaul, Gabriel Kussmaul, Nicholas Martin; great-grandchild, Bryton Self; brother Robert Holloway; sister Mary Lou Henson; and many nephews and nieces.
Services, with military honors, were held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, Missouri.
