Paul Hadley Goddard, 83, Belton, MO, died Friday, November 26, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion or the VFW Post No. 4409, 1804 North Commercial, Harrisonville, MO 64701.
Paul was born February 26, 1927 in Everett, MO, the son of Morris Valentine and Mary Louise (Dorsett) Goddard. He graduated from Peculiar, Missouri High School. He married Verna Louise Kirkpatrick in May of 1963.
Paul worked as an electronics assembler at Bendix before retiring in 1990. Paul was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post #536 in Archie and the VFW Post #1935. He enjoyed playing baseball when he was younger, collecting coins, fishing and he loved spending time with his grandkids.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Louise on March 3, 2001 and a brother, Alva Morris Goddard. He is survived by four children, Shawna Goddard, Belton, MO, Cheryl Burgess and her husband, Mike, Peculiar, MO, Rick Goddard and his wife, Ann, Pueblo, CO and Sue Nichols, Kansas City, MO; one brother, Walter Lynn Goddard and his wife, Margaret, Harrisonville, MO; two sisters, Mary Lee Brooks and her husband, Don, Scottsdale, AZ and Jerry Ann Champ and her husband, Chuck, Archie, MO; sister-in-law, Ginger Goddard, Archie, MO; nine grandchildren, Lance, Jordan, Michael, Greg, Ryan, Christy, Angie, Brian and Jackie; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
