Obituary

Paul E. Cooley, 79, of Harrisonville, Missouri died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at his home in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Burial in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice of Kansas City, 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite 300, Kansas City, MO 64114.

Paul was born April 17, 1931 in Harrisonville, Missouri, a son of Archie Ellsworth and Lydia (White) Cooley. Paul grew up in Harrisonville and attended the Harrisonville Schools. He lived in Harrisonville and Kansas City, Kansas before moving back to Harrisonville in 1996.

Paul was a Union Plumber and had worked for Tip-Top Plumbing and Garney Plumbing before his retirement. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a life member of Harrisonville VFW Post 4409. He was a member of Plumbers Local #8, Kansas City, MO.

Paul was united in marriage to Marion C. Rhodelander, April 2, 1979.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and eight sisters. He is survived by his wife, Marion, of the home; four sons, Cody Cooley, Osawatomie, Kansas, Rick Baker, Harrisonville, Jerry Baker and wife, Pam, Blue Springs, Missouri and Scott Cooley, Ashland, Kentucky; three daughters, Marian Simmons, Clinton, Missouri, Kelly Harrelson, and husband, Jim, Clinton and Shelly Carver and husband, Russ, Freeman, Missouri; two brothers, Archie Cooley, Nashville, Tennessee and Melvin Cooley, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
