IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia "Pati"
Joanne Bowes
November 7, 1950 – March 21, 2025
Patricia "Pati" Joanne (Hillman) Bowes, 74, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away in her home on Friday, March 21, 2025 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Per her request, no services will be held. For those wishing to pay respects, her headstone can be found at Glenwild Cemetery in Cleveland, MO. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you talk to your local school district and add to those delinquent lunch balances of children with struggling families, as there is one less wonderful woman on this earth to help the kiddos.
Born in Indiana, but raised in Cass County, MO, Pati raised a family of her own in Cleveland, MO, while driving a school bus for Cass-Midway Schools. She spent many happy years as Ms. Pati, driving a school bus and working as a Para at Skyline School District. She prided herself on making a difference in the children she worked with, keeping every gift, knickknack and School Picture she ever received from the children.
Pati lived most of her adult life at Lake Pomme de Terre with her husband, Larry Lynn Bowes, on their farm. She later moved to Peculiar to be with her children and grandchildren where she spent her years as her favorite role, Nanny. A selfless woman who could not be more loved by her babies, as she called them all. She was a proud member of the Ladies of the Eastern Star. She spent her life giving her time and love to others in need.
Ms. Bowes is preceded in death by her parents, Chester Andrew Hillman Sr. and Rodney Allen Hillman; her brother, Daniel Ray Hillman; and her husband, Larry Lynn Bowes. She is survived by her two brothers: Richard J. Hillman and Chester Andrew Hillman, Jr; her two sisters: Cheryl Jean Lyon and Jeanette Kay Laffoon; her son, Michael Alan Irvin; her daughter, Alana Kim Miller; four grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
