Opal June King, 81, Independence, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Rosewood Health and Rehab Center in Independence. (Cremation).
Opal was born October 11, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Fred Raymond and Nellie Frances (Young) Grossnickle. She had lived in Kansas City and Independence most of her life. Opal had worked in housekeeping at several local hospitals in the Independence, Missouri area.
Opal was preceded in death by two sons, John Robert Wheeler, Jr. and Jeffrey Wheeler. She is survived by two sons, Justin Wheeler and Jerry Wheeler; three daughters, Joyce Spieler, Janet Heavner, and Judy Barlow; three sisters, Shirley Markle, Harriett Mason, and Sharon Ried.
