Oliver Eugene Long, 92, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville.  A memorial graveside service was held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO.

Oliver was born July 3, 1928 in Foster, MO, a son of Arthur and Jetta (Morehead) Long.  He was united in marriage to Neola LaRee Oskee on June 2, 1956, and they lived in Foster until moving to Harrisonville.  Oliver was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. After returning from the conflict, Oliver went to work for General Motors at the Leeds assembly plant in Kansas City, MO, where he worked for 30 years until his retirement.  He was a member of VFW Post 4409, Harrisonville.  After retirement, he worked various part time jobs, including one as a school crossing guard.  His hobbies included fishing, hunting and making jerky.

Oliver was preceded in death by his wife, Neola, and a son, Donald Long.  He is survived by a son, Mark Long and wife, Kimberly, Harrisonville; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Long, Harrisonville; five grandchildren: Amanda (Long) and her husband, Brandon Edwards, Jacob Long and his wife, Nicole, Cassandra Long, Levi Long and his wife, Melissa, and Samantha Johnston; and five great-grandchildren: Chloe Edwards, Jasper Edwards, Oakley Long, Jayden Johnston and Leylah Johnston.
