Norma Gene Smith, 55, East Lynne, MO, died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. A Celebration of Life was held  Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO.

Norma was born October 27, 1963 in Festus, MO, a daughter of Leland and Eilene (Wittneighbor) Edwards.  She married Gary Lee Smith on December 8, 1980 in Salem, MO.  She had lived in Harrisonville, MO since 1983 before moving to East Lynne six months ago.  Norma loved country music, especially Johnny Cash.

Norma was preceded in death by her son, Noah Smith, her parents Leland and Eileen Edwards, her sister, Connie Bartle, and brother, Eddie Savage.

Norma is survived by her husband, Gary Smith, East Lynne, MO; two daughters, April Boyce and husband Rick, Hodgenville, KY and Sarah Smith, Blue Springs, MO; one son, Mikeal Smith and fiancée, Katie Heidbrink of O'Fallon, MO; three brothers, Leland Jr., Randy, and Don; four sisters, Louise, Pat, Levella and Lanita; 6 grandchildren, Alexis, Cole, Dalton, Paisley, Izabella, and Keaton, and two sisters-in-law, Ellen Harris and husband, Jim, and Anna Smith, all of Mt. Vernon, MO.
