Norma "Jean" Baker, 85, Stockton, Missouri, formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Private inurnment will be held in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Jean was born April 8, 1931 in Louisburg, Kansas, the daughter of Albert and Freida (Knowler) Hinds. She married Rex Baker on June 26, 1950 in Long Beach, California. They moved to Harrisonville in 1959.
Norma worked as the bookkeeper of their family-owned shop, Harrisonville Glass, from 1960 until she retired in 1983. She and her husband moved to Stockton, Missouri in 1983. They wintered in Yuma, Arizona for 25 years and she was a member of Beta Sigma Pi, the VFW and DAV Auxiliary in Yuma.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rex on October 2, 2012, and one daughter, Cassie Hamilton on April 19, 2016.
She is survived by two sons, John Baker, Harrisonville, Missouri and Rex Baker, Archie, Missouri; one daughter, Pam "P. J." Baker, Leawood, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
