Obituary

Nona Belle Brewster, 86, Butler, Missouri died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Sharon Cemetery in Drexel, Missouri. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to The Shriner Hospital for Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131.

Nona Belle was born on February 8, 1926 in Bates County, Missouri, to Newton and Dorothy (Toncary) Elliott. She graduated from Merwin High School. She married Raymond Oliver Brewster on April 29th, 1943 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Nona was a grade school teacher at Wolf School in Freeman, Missouri, during the war. She later worked as an inspector for Bendix in Kansas City, Missouri, for over 30 years.


Nona Belle was married to Raymond for over 69 years. She was blessed with two sons, Ron and Bob, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Her family was the pride and joy of her life. She loved them all absolutely and with all of her heart. Over the years, Nona Belle lived in Merwin, Drexel, Kansas City, and has been in Butler for the past 21 years.

Nona Belle was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, C.J. and one sister, Betty. She is survived by her husband, Raymond, of the home; two sons, Ron Brewster and wife, Lois, Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Bob Brewster and wife, Barbara, Adrian, Missouri; one sister, Eleanor Hessenflow, Snellville, Georgia; 6 grandchildren, Bobby Brewster and wife, Krista, Adrian, Missouri, Stacey Maher and husband, Jason, Adrian, Heather Vaughan and husband, Joe, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jeremy Brewster, Adrian, Anna Brewster, Paraguay, South America and Mary Brewster, Hoffman Estates, Illinois; 11 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Collin, Alex, Taylor, Serenity, McKinley, Ryan, Eli, Kael, Cooper and Danyelle and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Brylee Kay.
