Nancy Ann Vestal, 80, Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2020 at Wilshire at Lakewood in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Cremation. No services are scheduled at this time.
Nancy was born December 28, 1939 in Grand Junction, Colorado, the daughter of Hebert and Inez (Samples) Cooper. As a child Nancy moved frequently as a result of the demands of her father's profession and attended 19 different schools prior to graduating from Topeka High School in Topeka, Kansas. After high school Nancy attended and graduated from the Kansas City Business College. Nancy met the love of her life Delmer Lee Vestal and they were married on December 11, 1971.
Nancy worked as an office manager for a local physician for over 25 years. She excelled in her position although always found time to live life to the fullest. Throughout her life Nancy enjoyed numerous hobbies, including fencing, archery, bowling, crafts, bingo and gambling at casinos. Nancy was an avid traveler and was always up for a new adventure, including riding a donkey to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
Family was extremely important to Nancy and throughout her life remained close with her siblings and their families. She organized numerous family gatherings and always coordinated fun activities for those in attendance. Nancy loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to spoil them with gifts and treats.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer on February 21, 2016, her parents, Herbert and Inez Cooper, one brother, James Cooper and one sister, Linda Christopherson. She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Bunch (Steve), Lee's Summit, Missouri; sister, Doris Adkins, Houston, Texas; brother, Dr. Hebert Cooper (Karen), Chapel Hill, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Todd Christopherson, Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Shelby Osburn, Lee's Summit, Missouri and Olivia Lacroix (Doug), Ewa Beach, Hawaii; two great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Kai, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy has spent the past four years without the love of her life; they are now reunited and once again holding hands as they did throughout their life together.
The family would like to thank Wilshire at Lakewood and Ascend Hospice for the outstanding care they provided Nancy.
