Nancy Lee Sechrest, 79, Peculiar, Missouri died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at her home in Peculiar. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville.

Nancy was born January 13, 1935 in Leavenworth, Kansas, the daughter of Charles E. and Edna (Hill) Head. Nancy had lived in Leavenworth for 30 years before moving to Peculiar in 1965. She owned Nancy's Café in Peculiar and had worked for Torotel in Grandview for 15 years.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Duane, on November 12, 1987, two brothers, one sister, and three sons, Eugene, James and Daniel. She is survived by one son, Robert May of Raymore, Missouri; two daughters, Barbara Bradfield of Bates City, Missouri, and Linda Johnson of Fairbault, Minnesota; one brother, Wesley Head of Leavenworth, Kansas; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
