Nancy Lou Linthicum, 78, of Grain Valley, MO, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, passed on from this world on the evening of April 10, 2022, surrounded by the love of family and friends, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. Memorial services were held Saturday, April 16, 2022, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Harrisonville.  Memorial contribution may be made to St. Peter's Episcopal Church or Hope Haven.

Nancy was born September 23, 1943, to J. D. Jones and Lucille (Dorton) Jones in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up and spent most of her life in Harrisonville, having graduated from Harrisonville High School in the Class of 1961. After high school, Nancy attended the University of Missouri. She worked at Yellow Freight for 25 years where she developed lifelong friendships. After retirement, Nancy went to work for Cason Law Firm for 10 years.

Nancy spent her spare time giving back to her community. Doing so by being a lifelong member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She served as an Alderman for seven years. She also worked as a liaison and member of the Historic Preservation Commission for 23 years.

Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren where she made the decision to move to Grain Valley to be closer to them. She embarked immediately on embracing the community and giving back by becoming a volunteer at St. Mary's Medical Center as well as becoming a member of the Church of Resurrection where she served as member of the Alter Guild, Hospitality, and The Order of the Daughters of the King. Nancy's sense of wit and humor made her loved by all in her new community.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Linda Jones, a son, Curtis Linthicum, and a brother-in-law, Tom Moore. She is survived by one son, Jason (Kressy) Linthicum, Grain Valley, MO; one daughter, Paula (Nathan) Carpenter, Lone Jack, MO; one sister, Jan Moore, Lee's Summit, MO; one brother, Thad (Pam) Jones of Archie, MO; four grandchildren: Alex Linthicum, Devin Linthicum, Holden Carpenter and Drew Linthicum, and many nieces and nephews and friends.
