Myrtle Mae Arnold, 92, Higginsville, Missouri, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO.

Mae was born October 13, 1918 in Harrisonville, MO, the daughter of William and Dora (Fry) Zumalt. She was united in marriage to Charles Lee Arnold on December 5, 1936 in Harrisonville. They enjoyed 74 years of marriage before Charles' death on December 16, 2010.

Mae lived in Harrisonville until 1962. She had lived in Higginsville for 20 years. Mae loved to garden.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, one brother, two sisters and one great-grandson, Christian Lee Morris. She is survived by two sons, Charles E. Arnold and wife, Rebecca, Excelsior Springs, MO and Jim Arnold and wife, Janice, Orrick, MO; 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
