Montie Lee Faught, 85, of Harrisonville, MO, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at his home. Masonic services and funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2022  at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Interment at the Freeman Cemetery in Freeman, MO.

Montie was born August 16, 1936 to James Lee and Rose Ellen (Ethington) Faught in Flint, MI. He was raised by his grandparents, Elmer Thomas and Stella Mae Ethington, in Peculiar, MO. Montie married the love of his life, Goldie Lou James, on June 2, 1956 at her parent's home in Harrisonville, MO. Early in his career, he worked as a police officer in Raytown, MO, and later went to work for Western Electric/AT&T in their maintenance department, where he retired after 28 years in 1991. He also enjoyed his time spent coaching semi-pro basketball at Kemper Arena.

Throughout Montie's life, he enjoyed fishing, competing in several semi-pro bass tournaments. He enjoyed hunting, and traveling with Goldie after his retirement. Later in life, he enjoyed going out to West Line to listen to music with friends. He was a member of the Harrisonville Elks Lodge; the Ararat Shriners where he participated in many parades and was part of their motorcycle brigade; the Grand River Lodge #276 in Freeman, MO, where he served as past Master; and a member of First Baptist Church in Harrisonville, MO where he served as a Deacon.

Montie is preceded in death by his wife, Goldie. He is survived by his children: Bobby (Denise) Faught, Mike Faught, and Pamela Faught; his 6 grandchildren: Danielle Marie, Montie Wayne, Sara Marie, Jessie Lou, Travis John, Danny Michael; 12 great-grandchildren; his brother, Thomas Stapleton; and his sister, Beverly (Stapleton) Thurman.
