Mildred Irene Warren, 95, Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 14 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13 at the chapel with Eastern Star services at 7:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Mildred was born July 18, 1914 in Kansas City, MO, the youngest child of John Wesley and Nina Lee (Alexander) Pippenger. She married Berwyn Irving Bell on January 16, 1938. To this union three children were born: Terry Lynn, Jeannine Lee and John Irving. Berwyn died in July of 1959. She married Tas Manley Warren on December 25, 1961. They moved to Harrisonville from Raytown, MO in 1966.
Mildred became a Registered Medical Technologist in 1958 and was employed in the laboratory of Baptist Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church, Bayard Chapter #179, Order of the Eastern Star, Past Worthy Matron and former District Deputy Grand Matron of this Order. She was also a member and Past Worthy High Priestess of Messiah Shrine #26, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Lee Abbas of Raymore, MO, one brother, Charles Wesley Pippenger, formerly of Kansas City, MO, her husband, Berwyn in 1959 and her second husband, Tas Warren. She is survived by two sons, Terry Bell and John Bell, both of Harrisonville, MO; one daughter, Jeannine McLaughlin of Blue Springs, MO; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
