Mildred O. Dobson, 90, of Peculiar, MO, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009 in Raymore, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO with visitation from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery in Peculiar. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Peculiar, P.O. Box 371, Peculiar, MO 64078.


Mildred was born May 27, 1919, the daughter of Charles G. and Myrtle (Urton) Stine. She was a life-long resident of Cass County, MO. Mildred was married to Robert F. Dobson for 47 years, until his death in 1986.

Mildred was a member of the Peculiar United Methodist Church and a long-time member of the High Hill Club of Peculiar. She was a homemaker and friend to many in the community.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Harvey, four half-brothers, Clarence, Emmett, Harold and Paul and her husband, Robert, on January 11, 1986. She is survived by two sons, Donald R. Dobson and wife, Judy of Mt. Vernon, Texas and Larry L. Dobson and wife, Mary of Raymore, MO; five grandchildren, Robert and wife, Sue of Haymarket, Virginia, Deborah Meiron of Raymore, Cheryl Schmidt and husband, Randy of Peculiar, Lauren Peter and husband, Thomas of Lee's Summit, MO and Scott Dobson of Raymore and nine great-grandchildren, Allison, Amber, Collin, Austin, Ashley, Kendall, Caleb, Chase and Caden.
